Super austenitic stainless steel, like other commonly used Cr Ni austenitic steels, has good cold and hot working properties. During hot forging, the maximum heating temperature can reach 1180 ℃, and the minimum stop forging temperature shall not be less than 900 ℃.
The super austenitic stainless steels, because of their high chromium and nickel content, are the most corrosion resistant of the stainless group providing unusually fine mechanical properties. They cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but can be hardened significantly by cold-working.
